Assistive Technoloy

Assistive technology is primarily designed to assist people with disability in order for them to be able to adapt in the "normal" society. It helps them augment their physical, social or mental limitations. Assistive technology includes; hearing aid, electronic wheelchair, computerized lift and some others. These types help them to be more independent in their lives inspite of their limitations. However,different types of assistive technology are also being used in schools and classrooms. They are used to help students who have learning difficulties learn better. In the classroom, they may use online resources designed to help students to understand skills in their pace and learning style. They may use calculators, Ipads, clickers, and other technology to make sure that the children have more oppurtunities to have meaningful learning experience.
